How To Conduct Basic Debugging on WC Vendors

To help us provide you with the most efficient and expedient support, please read this entire article, and follow each step. Most issues can be resolved or at least located (plugin conflict, theme issue) by following these steps.

Temporarily switch from your current theme to the Storefront theme.

It’s free. Please navigate to WordPress Dashboard > Themes > Add New, type Storefront, and Install/Activate.  You can also download Storefront here: https://wordpress.org/themes/storefront/

Storefront is written by WooCommerce and is a 100% guaranteed WooCommerce-compatible theme.  If after testing with Storefront the issue is not present, it is likely your theme that is causing the issue.

Have you tested with ONLY WC Vendors, (WC Vendors Pro) and WooCommerce active?

Disable all plugins except WooCommerce and WC Vendors (and WC Vendors Pro if you have a license).  Test to see if your issue is resolved. If it is, there’s a poorly written plugin causing a compatibility issue. Re-activate plugins one by one, testing after each new activation, to find the culprit.

Running the latest versions.

Please ensure you are running the latest version of WordPress, WooCommerce, and WC Vendors Marketplace.

Run an update recently?

Have you run an update for a plugin or theme recently? Has your hosting made any changes? If you can determine which update is now causing an issue, try rolling back the plugin version.

Check your WooCommerce System Status.

Navigate to WordPress Dashboard > WooCommerce > Status.  Anything with an X, or the color red needs to be addressed.  Fix these issues before asking for support from us. Many times we log in to a member’s site, find a problem on this page, and fixing it resolves every issue.

Check for answers on our docs

We provide articles on common customization tips, user guides for WC Vendors and our other plugins, as well as other helpful tips and articles.

Have you checked all the WC Vendors settings?

WordPress Dashboard > WC Vendors > Settings.  Be sure to review your settings and understand what each option provides, and if you have each setting properly configured.

Are you asking for assistance with Customisation?

We currently do not provide custom development for our plugins.  If you’re looking for help custom-developing your site, we recommend http://codeable.io as many of their developers are specially qualified to work on WC Vendors and WooCommerce.

Have you searched for answers on Google?

Many times, if you search through Google, you’ll find your answer- or at least something that will help lead you to your answer. A lot of questions are WooCommerce questions, not WC Vendors questions- so keep that in mind when you perform your searches.

We’re here to support you, so thanks for taking the time to read this quick guide to ensure that any issues can be resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible.
